It started with 18 clear acrylic tubes found, of all places, on Facebook Marketplace. Therese and Misty were already circling the theme of frogs, and the tubes immediately read as core samples pulled up from a pond. So that's what they became: murky water at the base, a band of frog eggs through the middle, dense foliage up top. Paper, Tyvek, packing tape, zip ties, and 3D-printed caps and fixtures held it all together, and the materials kept teaching the piece new tricks as it came together. At the last minute, pieces from Frangible Dreams got worked into the crown of each tube, giving the top an alien, almost splashing-water look that wasn't planned but felt right. The result is a set of glowing wetland specimens, equal parts science display and swamp dream.
