Light Leaves
This installation was created in 2021 for the Portland Winter Light Festival. Inspired by time spent outdoors, the artist was captivated by the light filtering through tree leaves, which led to the creation of this piece. Salvaged book pages dyed in blues and greens, paper mache, thread, wire, and other recycled materials were used to craft leaves and glowing flowers with intricate patterns and depth. The clusters of giant leaves were sewn from painted and dyed recycled Tyvek and displayed in two retail business window fronts for about three weeks.
